Help to transport clothes to a family in Congo-Kinshasa

Hello!

We are Zuzana and Gicky and we want to help our friend Fulgence who lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is in a difficult family situation. He now has to take care his 6 younger brothers and sisters, aged between 10 and 14.

A few months ago, a death occurred in his family and Fulgence now has to look after himself and his brothers and sisters all by himself. Unfortunately, he finds it difficult to provide them with everything they need, such as clothes. And as we have a lot of clothes at the moment, we decided to take the initiative. We have collected clothes that Zuzana's family no longer uses and we have decided to send it to our friend and his family in Congo-Kinshasa.

Fulgence has just finished his university studies and is trying to find a good job that will help him finance his family's expenses. Unfortunately, there aren't any good offers, so he's doing several part-time jobs at once.

What will be the money used for

We'd like to start a public collection drive to see if any kind souls are willing to help us finance the transport of a large parcel to the Congo from the Czech Republic, where we're based at the moment. Transport costs around 480 euros, depending on what's currently on offer.

The clothes we want to send are t-shirts and shorts, skirts and dresses, as well as sneakers and sandals. There are also lightweight jumpers, which are worn in the Congo during the dry season. We'll be sending them in a cardboard box, all weighing 25 kg.

Our team

We (Zuzana and Gicky) are language science students and our dream is to help people in Congo, where Gicky is from. We'd like the people of this country, which has been afflicted by war and genocide in the east of the country, to have the chance to live in dignity and make their own way in life.
