Solidarité autour de Nizam.

Nizam est un journaliste kurde. 

Il a dû quitter il y a quelques années de cela, sa terre du Kurdistan turc, car il était constamment harcelé par le régime de Erdogan.

Après un séjour en prison puis une grève de la faim, il a fini par fuir en Grèce.

Il a alors été reconnu réfugié politique, et vit depuis dans le camp de Lavrio, ou il est depuis longtemps actif en termes de solidarité, il accueille et aide notamment à coordonner les convois solidaires organisés par nos collectifs français.

Sa santé était déjà vacillante à son arrivée en Grèce, elle est aujourd'hui à un stade ultime. 

Nizam a un cancer très agressif, qui se propage dans son organisme.

Il est actuellement sous chimiothérapie, et a besoin d'oxygène quotidiennement.

Entre deux séances de chimiothérapie il rentre "chez lui" au camp de réfugiés.

Et nous souhaitons l'aider à y vivre plus confortablement.

Dans un premier temps nous avons besoin de lui fournir un lit médicalisé, ainsi qu'un climatiseur pour affronter les températures extrêmes de l'été grec.

Solidarity with Nizam.

Nizam is a Kurdish journalist. 

A few years ago, he was forced to leave his homeland of Turkish Kurdistan because he was constantly harassed by the Erdogan regime.

After a spell in prison and a hunger strike, he fled to Greece.

He was then recognised as a political refugee and has since been living in the Lavrio camp, where he has long been active in solidarity work, welcoming and helping to coordinate the solidarity convoys organised by our French collectives.

His health was already fragile when he arrived in Greece, and is now at a critical stage. 

Nizam has a very aggressive form of cancer, which is spreading throughout his body.

He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and needs oxygen on a daily basis.

Between chemotherapy sessions, he returns "home" to the refugee camp.

We want to help him live more comfortably there.

First, we need to provide him with a medical bed and an air conditioner to cope with the extreme temperatures of the Greek summer.
