Please help Abeer and her family escape the horror of Gaza

Hello,
I am Abeer, a civil engineer from Gaza, mother of two twins, Adam and Alma, 2.5 years old, who have known nothing but the horrors of war and lived their childhood amid the rubble and chaos. I am writing to you today to help me evacuate my family of four people (me, my husband Mahmoud and our twin children) to escape the hell of genocide in Gaza to Egypt.

We desperately hope to have a refuge and a chance for life outside of the unrest.
Since October 7, our lives have been turned upside down, they have been shattered by the unimaginable loss; we lost our home and my husband's workplace was destroyed and thus we were deprived of our only source of livelihood.Gaza has become a block of destruction, relentless destruction.

Imagine waking up every morning to the deafening sound of bombs, not knowing if another bombing will kill you and your family. This has been our reality for a very long time. We have lost everything: Our home, our work and most importantly, we had to migrate from our home in the northern Gaza Strip four times in one month to the southern Gaza Strip, to Khan Younis, where we stayed in a sub-human shelter with none of the basic necessities of life: no potable water, no clean toilets, no sufficient or healthy food other than canned food, no food for my young children, no milk, no sanitary supplies such as nappies and diapers, and a very narrow place where there is no space for decent living or privacy a room shared with many other families in an UNRWA centre.

After staying for two months in this humanitarian shelter, and as the Israeli army approached Khan Younis and surrounded the centre under heavy gunfire and shelling for days, we were forced to evacuate to the city of Rafah on the border with Egypt, where we had no place to shelter us except a fragile tent (it does not protect us from the heat, cold or rain, let alone the successive explosions), a tent that we share with 16 others, without the basic necessities of life for me and my children. We thought that Rafah was our last resort, that it was safer than other places, but in Gaza nowhere is safe. We are left teetering on the edge of despair.

We suffer not only from hunger and thirst, but also from the trauma of living in constant fear. Every day is a struggle for survival. We cling to life with every fibre of our being, but how much longer can we endure? The exorbitant prices of basic necessities have exacerbated our tragedy, and in the face of this ordeal, we refuse to give in to despair. That is why I reach out with all the hope left in my heart, and ask for your kindness and generosity.

Your support has the power to save us from the depths of despair. With your compassionate assistance, we can transit to Egypt, a beacon of hope where we can build our future in a safer and more peaceful place.

The donations we will raise will serve as a ticket to freedom, enabling us to escape the cycle of violence and rebuild our shattered lives. These funds will cover Coordination fees for entering the border ($6,000 per adult and $2,500 per child) and basic travelling expenses as we embark on this journey to a brighter tomorrow. I pledge that every donation received will be transparently allocated to efforts to evacuate my family from inside Gaza and rebuild my children's lives in a safer and more peaceful place. أنا عبير مهندسة مدنية من غزة وأم لطفلان توأمان آدم و ألما بعمر 2.5 سنة، اللذان لم يعرفا سوى أهوال الحرب وعيش طفولتهم وسط الأنقاض والفوضى، أكتب لكم اليوم لمساعدتي على اجلاء عائلتي المكونة من أربع أشخاص (أنا وزوجي محمود وطفلانا التوأمان )

للهروب من جحيم الابادة الجماعية في غزة الى مصر.نحن نأمل و بشدة الوصول إلى ملجأ وفرصة للحياة خارج نطاق الاضطرابات
منذ 7 أوكتوبر انقلبت حياتنا رأساً على عقب، تحطمت حياتنا بسبب الخسارة التي لا يمكن تصورها؛ فقدنا منزلنا وتدمر مكان عمل زوجي وبذلك خسرنا مصدر رزقنا الوحيد وبقينا بلا مأوى، غزة أصبحت كتلة دمار، دمار لا هوادة فيه.

تخيل أنك تستيقظ كل صباح على صوت القنابل الذي يصم الآذان، دون أن تعرف ما إذا كان قصف آخر سيقتلك أنت وعائلتك أم لا. لقد كان هذا واقعنا لفترة طويلة جدًا. لقد فقدنا كل شيء: منزلنا، وعملنا، والأكثر اذ توجب علينا الهجرة من بيتنا في شمال قطاع غزة 4 مرات خلال شهر واحد الى جنوب قطاع غزة وصولاً الى خانيونس، حيث بقينا هناك في مركز ايواء لا يرقى للمستوى الأدمي للعيش مع عدم توفر اي من المقومات الاساسية للحياة لا مياه صالحة للشرب ولا دورات مياه نظيفة ولا طعام كافي او صحي غير المعلبات وعدم توفر اي من طعام لأطفالي الصغار من حليب او مستلزمات صحية حفاضات وأدوات الرعاية الصحية ومكان ضيق جداً حيث لا مساحة للعيش الكريم او الخصوصية فيه عبارة عن غرفة في مركز لوكالة الغوث الأونروا مشتركة مع العديد من العائلات الأخرى.

والأكثر بعد مكوثنا لمدة شهرين في هذا المكان الانساني ومع اقتراب الجيش الاسرائيلي من خانيونس ومحاصرته للمركز تحت اطلاق النار والقصف الكثيف في منطقتنا لمدة أيام أجبرنا على الاجلاء إلى مدينة رفح على الحدود مع مصر حيث لا مكان يأوينا سوى خيمة هشة (لا تقي الحر ولا البرد ولا المطر، فكيف لها أن تحمسنا من الانفجارات المتتالية)، خيمة نتشاركها مع ١٦ آخرون، من دون أدني مقومات الحياة لي ولأطفالي، وكنا نعتقد أن رفح الملاذ الأخير لنا ,أي انها آمنة أكثر من الأماكن الاخرى. ولكن في غزة لا مكان أمن وكل شي مستباح! ومع تهديدات الجيش الاسرائيلي المستمرة لنا منذ أيام على أنهم سوف يدخلون رفح ويدمروها كما فعلو في كل مناطق قطاع غزة

هكذا تُركنا نتأرجح على حافة اليأس
لا نعاني من الجوع والعطش فحسب، بل من صدمة العيش في خوف دائم أيضًا. كل يوم هو صراع من أجل البقاء. نحن نتشبث بالحياة بكل ذرة من كياننا، ولكن إلى متى يمكننا أن نتحمل؟ وقد أدت الأسعار الباهظة للضروريات الأساسية إلى تفاقم مأساتنا، وفي مواجهة هذه المحنة، فإننا نرفض الاستسلام لليأس.

لهذا السبب أتواصل مع كل الأمل المتبقي في قلبي، وأطلب لطفكم وكرمكم. دعمكم يحمل القدرة على إنقاذنا من أعماق اليأس. بمساعداتكم الرحيمة، يمكننا أن نقوم بالانتقال إلى مصر، منارة الأمل مكان أكثر أمن وسلام.
